Founding Movers: Honoring the First to Believe in Malibu Moves
In the fall of 2024, something incredible began at Zuma Beach. Hundreds of people laced up their shoes—not just to race, but to stand for something. That moment marked the beginning of Malibu Moves. With a mission rooted in movement, community, and giving back, we launched our inaugural event to support local public schools.
Now, in 2025, we’re doing something special to recognize the people who helped us launch that first wave: our Founding Movers.
Why the First Year Meant Everything
In every community event, there’s a group of people who say yes before there’s a crowd. Before the race-day hype, before the medal designs, before the post-race party—there were the Founding Movers.
These are the people who showed up in 2024 not just for themselves, but for their neighbors, their kids, their hometown. They trusted us before Malibu Moves had a track record. They believed in our mission before anyone else.
They were the first to help turn movement into meaning—and we’ll never forget that.
What It Means to Be a Founding Mover
To be a Founding Mover is to be part of the only class of participants who helped launch a movement. It’s a badge of honor—and in 2025, it’s a title you’ll be proud to wear.
Here’s what Founding Movers can look forward to:
A limited-edition Founding Mover hat, available only to 2024 returnees who register by June 30.
A special custom-printed race bib, identifying you as a founding participant if you register by July 31.
Your name on our Founders Wall, which will be displayed near the start line for all to see—if registered by August 31.
More perks to come, reminding you of your role in building something meaningful.
