The best spot to cheer is at the start/finish line. For an elevated experience, head to the Charity/VIP Lounge or beer garden, both offering prime views of the finish line chute.
Due to the course running along PCH, we don't recommend trying to cheer along the route. What makes this event special is the secluded nature of the course and the rare chance to run along PCH!

Both the half marathon and 5K will use a self-seeded corral system. Look for estimated finish time signs and position yourself accordingly. Walkers should start toward the back to avoid being run over by faster runners.
Your race time won’t be affected by your position in the line. Your start time will only begin when you've crossed the start line mat.
-
The 5K & Half Marathon has a 4-hour course limit, requiring participants to maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace. If you're unable to keep this pace, you can still finish but will need to follow regular traffic laws.
Course support, including aid stations, timing mats, and post-race refreshments, will be available for those keeping pace. The Finish Line will remain open until 12:30 pm.
Look out for our half marathon pacers and awesome Party Pacers on race day—cheering you on and making sure no one is left behind. Give them a high five for some extra motivation!
-
For safety reasons, all water stations are located on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway. Outbound runners will need to cross inbound runners' traffic to reach the aid stations and are asked to yield to inbound runners when possible.
Please be mindful that the course along PCH can be narrow, so leave space for passing and stay within the cones. Always pass with caution!
-
The Malibu Moves 5K & Half Marathon will be professionally timed (except for the Kids Run).
Your race bib contains a timing chip, which will record your personal start and finish times.
Your official results will reflect your "chip time," meaning the exact time you cross both the start and finish line mats, ensuring accurate tracking of your race performance.

In alignment with the Road Runners Club of America's guidelines, Malibu Moves advises against the use of strollers during races. However, in our commitment to inclusivity, we do not explicitly prohibit the responsible use of strollers. To ensure the safety of all participants, those who choose to run or walk with strollers must adhere to the following rules:
Approved Strollers:
Only 3-wheel strollers designed specifically for jogging or running are permitted during races.Starting Position:
All participants with strollers must start at the back of the pack.Yielding to Runners:
Stroller operators must yield the right of way to runners and refrain from weaving through groups of runners. Yielding includes providing a clear path for runners, particularly by avoiding cutting in on tangents or turns.Keep Right, Pass Safely:
Stroller operators must stay to the right side of the course, except when passing. Passing must be done safely, with a verbal announcement (e.g., "passing on the left").Maintain Safe Distance:
Stroller operators must keep a safe distance from other runners at all times.Control of Stroller:
Strollers must be operated with both hands on the handlebar at all times. Running or walking hands-free is not allowed.Stroller Occupants' Safety:
All occupants in the stroller must be securely strapped in. It is recommended that stroller occupants wear protective headgear, such as helmets.Interaction with Others:
Stroller operators must ensure that occupants do not reach out to other runners, spectators, volunteers, or objects along the race course.Course-Specific Considerations:
The out-and-back nature of certain courses and narrow passages can create additional challenges and safety concerns for stroller use. Stroller operators should exercise extra caution in these areas.
Failure to adhere to these rules may jeopardize the safety of other participants and could result in sanctions in accordance with the Malibu Moves Code of Conduct. Sanctions may include prohibiting individuals from using strollers in future events.
Remember, "Start slowly and taper off!"
