Scenic Miles & Community Purpose

On October 25–26, 2025, the Pacific Coast Highway will transform into one of the most breathtaking race courses in the country.

The IPS Malibu Moves Presented by UCLA Health returns to Zuma Beach for its second year, bringing new race distances, expanded opportunities for athletes, and a mission-driven reason to lace up.

Running Where Ocean Meets Coastline

Few race experiences compare to Malibu. With uninterrupted ocean views, dramatic coastal bluffs, and the sound of waves crashing beside you, the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K showcase Southern California running at its finest.

From a fast, flat 5K perfect for speed, to the rolling hills of the Half Marathon that test your grit and reward your effort, every distance offers its own challenge. For those who want to slow down and simply take it in, the beauty of the PCH provides all the motivation you need. For first-time movers, the 1-Mile Zuma Dash (open to all ages) or the 1K kids Run (ages 4-10) is the perfect entry point to join the celebration and make an impact.

And for those seeking the ultimate test, the Coastal Quest Challenge combines a Saturday race with a Sunday distance—earning you three medals, two shirts, and serious bragging rights.

Being able to run along PCH is an absolute dream. I love the message that this race stands for and that it welcomes everyone.

More Than a Finish Line

Malibu Moves is more than a race—it’s a community movement. In 2025, the event is dedicating 100% of net proceeds to two causes close to home: supporting local public schools and funding fire recovery efforts after the devastating Frankling and Palisades Fire.

Every registration, every step, and every fundraising mile contributes to the event’s bold goal: raising $100,000 to rebuild and strengthen the Malibu community.

The Full Race Weekend Experience

  • Sunday Races: Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K with Pacific Coast views start to finish.

  • Saturday Events: 1-Mile Zuma Dash and Kids’ Run to kick off the weekend.

  • Post-Race Festival: Beer garden, music, wellness activations, and local vendors to celebrate every finisher.

  • Swag You’ll Actually Wear: Purpose-driven shirts, coastal-inspired finisher medals, and VIP perks for fundraisers.

Make Your Miles Matter

We start where it matters most—with our kids. The first $35,000 raised goes directly to the Malibu Education Foundation, helping to restore classroom programs, arts education, and mental health services that every student deserves. These funds also extend to Girls on the Run LA and The Emily Shane Foundation, amplifying opportunities and empowerment for young people across our community.

Wave Two: Fire-Ready ($35K–$70K)

Anyone who calls Malibu home knows that wildfire is a constant threat. The next wave of funds strengthens our ability to prepare and protect. Donations in this tier support the Malibu Fire Brigade with training, equipment, and resources to keep our neighborhoods and natural spaces safer.

Wave Three: Community Resilience ($75K–$100K)

The final push toward our $100,000 goal focuses on healing and rebuilding. Funds raised here go directly to local families and small businesses still recovering in the aftermath of the devastating Palisades Fire. Together, we can help our neighbors rise stronger than before.

Malibu Moves was created to be more than just a race. It’s a community event where every pace and every person belongs—and where every step supports something bigger than ourselves.
